The brief
Veranasi had outgrown its custom WordPress store. The brand wanted Shopify's reliability and easier day-to-day management, but not at the cost of the look that sets it apart, with big photography and motion that feels expensive.
What I built
- A custom Shopify theme in Liquid, designed around Veranasi's photography instead of a template's layout.
- Animation and layered layouts that keep the editorial feel of the old site.
- A migration of the catalog and pages from WordPress, planned so the store wouldn't lose its search visibility.
- Continued work since launch, as new collections and campaigns come in.
How it's built
Everything is native Shopify: Liquid templates and sections the team can edit themselves, with lightweight JavaScript for the motion. Keeping it native means the store works with Shopify's apps and checkout out of the box, and the animation is written so it doesn't slow down the first view of a page.
Results
The new store brought in more than $10K in its first month, and the brand reports around $45K in monthly revenue since (figures reported by the client).
